Are you superstitious?
We knew that once we found the boat for us, the first order of business would be to change the name to Constellation. Not only do we love the name and connotations that come along with it, but it also happens to be the name of the parent company that Den works for. Working for this company has meant the freedom to make our dreams and adventures come true. So it seemed apt, and just generally perfect for us.
If you have ever googled changing a boat name, you'll soon realize that "people" (in quotes because it's other people, certainly not us) feel superstitious about it. There was one teeny tiny piece of me that did think about the bad luck part of it, but that was quickly erased once we found out that the people we bought the boat from had already changed the original name of it (!!!). So there you have it.....potential bad luck immediately gone. :-)
In addition to registering it officially with the new name, and changing how we showed up on all of the electronics onboard (to other boats), we had the new name put across the stern. It's officially Constellation now, and we are excited to see what kind of fun adventures she will take us on.
Special thank you to my sister Teresa, who is a graphic design artist. We told her the name we wanted, and she curated this specifically for us. Neither of us is the artsy fartsy type, so we never would have come up with adding our own constellations to the name (Aries and Scorpio). We LOVE that!!
